Y-3 has officially dropped its first ever Adizero Running Apparel collection for its Fall/Winter 2023 Chapter 4 release. As a continuation of their partnership, adidas and Yohji Yamamoto have come together to elevate sportswear with a disruptive collection that hinges on juxtapositions.
Staying true to Yamamoto’s design intent, the collection features an array of hybrid selections. The concept is titled “Subverted Function,” allowing the brand and the designer to reimagine typical sportswear pieces into adaptable garments, footwear and accessories. Giving athletic-wear an avant-garde construction, the German sportswear brand pushes the boundaries of innovation with dynamic, winter-ready options for the upcoming season.
The collection highlights puffers, parkas and vests all elevated with metal zips and adjustable snap button closure to give the garments a versatile aesthetic. The snap button closer allows the clothes to be worn in an asymmetrical look while the brush stroke motif gives the pieces an added coal point. As for footwear, Y-3 introduces two new silhouettes, the Y-3 GENDO and the Y-3 KYASU. The GENDO silhouette takes on the adidas Superstar as its base but with a fully hollowed out TPU plate while the KYASU, which is available as a high or low cut, features a stitched upper and a brick-like outsole.

In other fashion news, Birkenstock and Tekla are coming together for a limited edition footwear and sleepwear collection.
