Whether you are an American expat or simply need to send money abroad, wiring money internationally is a fast way to move funds in order to pay bills or send money to friends and family.

If you’re not familiar with the process, here’s a simple guide for how to wire money with Chase Bank.

And remember, Wise is a great alternative to your bank as a payment option that makes it easier, and it may be cheaper to send your money internationally.

How to wire money with Chase Bank?

To wire money online with Chase, log into your Chase account online. Non-Chase customers can enroll using the link on their banking website.

After logging in, verify your identity by requesting an Activation Code, which takes a few minutes.

Once confirmed, go to the Pay and Transfer tab, select the Wire money link from the dropdown options, and securely wire money online.

Here’s our step-by-step guide:

  1. Add recipient's information: Enter the recipient's name, address, country, and a nickname (for future use) by clicking on "Add a wire recipient." You can also include a custom message.

  2. Fill recipient's bank details: Provide the recipient's bank routing number (ABA) for domestic transfers or International Bank Account Number (IBAN) for international transfers. Use the ABA/SWIFT Lookup Guide provided by Chase if needed. For transfers to a Chase account, find the Chase routing number.

  3. Enter additional banking details: Verify the recipient's transfer information and provide the receiving bank's mailing address and account number. You can also leave a custom message for the bank.

  4. Verify wire transfer information: Double-check all the details and numbers for accuracy. Use the "Change" button to make any necessary corrections. Once verified, you're ready to process the international wire transfer.
