AGECOUTAY - Ashley April Dawn (April 3, 1991 - May 10, 2015). It is with great sadness to announce the sudden passing of our beloved Ashley. Ashley was predeceased by her mother, Eunice Agecoutay and siblings Natasha Agecoutay, Tanya Agecoutay and Ricky Longman. Also grandparents Rose Longman, George and Margaret Johns-Agecoutay and uncle Merlin Longman. Ashley is survived by her father, Alvin Longman and son Trey Agecoutay; siblings Tessie Agecoutay, Ryan Agecoutay, Rinell Agecoutay, Dakota Agecoutay; common-law Arron Ferguson and numerous family members and many friends. A wake will be held at Gordon's First Nation on May 20, 2015 at 4:00 p.m. and burial will be at Gordon's First Nation Cemetery, May 21, 2015.

ANDERSON - Douglas David (January 28, 1958 - November 18, 2006). Doug's life was suddenly taken from us on Saturday, November 18, 2006. Doug has left to be with his father Jim McNab, mother Mabel Anderson, brothers Jimmy and Bill, sister Muriel and grandchildren Natasha Lynn and Joshua Isaac, along with many relatives. Doug is survived by his loving wife Arlene, children Charity (Sonny), Terry (Lesia), Robin, Emily, Lance, Leslie (Brad), Morley (Trina), Myron (Nicole) and Chad Kahnapace, his eighteen grandchildren, sisters Dale (Terry), Ramona Peters and Lillian Laslo, brothers Oliver, Brent (Loretta), Mike McNab (Glenda), John (Sherri), as well as Roger (Roxanne), Durwin (Patty), Donna (Tony), April to whom he took as younger siblings, Uncle Phillip Bitternose, Aunt Rena Pelletier, Gladys Quewezance and Aunt Isabelle McNab (giving him the name Dougoose), as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Doug will be missed and remembered by the many people who knew him. Doug was a man who lived his life to the fullest. The Wake will be held Wednesday, November 22, 2006 at 4:00 P.M. in the Gym, Gordon First Nation. The Funeral Service will be held November 23, 2006 at 2:00 P.M., also in the Gym, Gordon First Nation. Burial will follow in St. Luke's Cemetery, Gordon First Nation.

ANDERSON - Howard Anderson 1924 2010 It is with great sadness that the family of Howard St.Clair Anderson, (Howling Wolf), announces his return to the creator. Howard is predeceased by his parents David Anderson and Mary Jane (nee Rose) Anderson; his first wife Melita (nee McNab) Anderson; sons Kenneth, David and Peter; brother Willie; sisters Mary, Lena, Gwen, Audrey and Christy; grandson Aaron and great granddaughter Tia. Howard leaves behind to mourn his passing his loving wife Denise (nee Hansplant) Anderson; his sons Howie (Pauline), Gord (Glenda), John (Carol) and Tony; his daughters Lorna, Bernelda, Kathy, Irma (Greg), Kari (Jeff), Paula, Evette, and Gena; 26 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren. Howard was just 16 years old when he signed up to fight for Canada in the Second World War. He exemplified strength, courage and honour on the battlefield. He dedicated his life after the war to looking out for the interests of other First Nations Veterans and their spouses. Howard was very active in Minor sports throughout his life, and won the Tom Long Boat award for his efforts. In his older years he took great pride watching his many grandchildren. He was always surrounded by family and many children playing at his feet. A Traditional Wake will take place, tonight, Monday, November 15, 2010 at 4:00 PM at Gordon First Nation Gymnasium. The Funeral Service will follow, also there on Tuesday, November 16, 2010 at 10:00 AM.

ANDERSON - James Henry Anderson, born February 5, 1959,suddenly left us to be with his parents, Jim McNab and Mabel Anderson, in the spirit world. Jim also left to be with his sister Muriel Poitras and brother Bill McNab. Jim leaves to walk this earth, his partner Theresa Bellegarde, sons; Nelson, Aaron, Mitchell & Tyler and daughters Brandy, Tristan, Tiffani, & Danielle. Grandchildren; Aries, Ashton, Shayle, Trey, Alexander, Montana & Lana. Sisters; Dale (Terry), Ramona (Bernie), sister/niece Donna (Tony) and brothers Mike (Glenda), Oliver, Brent, Doug (Arlene), twin John (Sherri), brother/nephew Roger, (Roxanne). Special nieces and nephews along with friends and relatives, aunts and uncles. Also leaving a special friend Jeannette and stepsons Todd, Arlen and Darrell. The wake will be held on Monday, September 23, 2002 at 6:00 P.M., in the Gordon First Nation gym. The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, September 24, 2002 at 2:00 P.M. in the Gordon First Nation gym, Gordon First Nation. Burial to follow at St. Luke's Cemetery, Gordon First Nation.

ANDERSON - Lance Anderson "Poohman" (1980-2011). On April 12, 2011, the Creator called our Loving Brother and Son home. Lance Maurice Anderson Poohman of the Gordon First Nation was suddenly taken away from us at the age of 30 years old. He is predeceased by his loving father Douglas Anderson, grandparents; James McNab & Mable Anderson (nee Bitternose), Edna (nee Kahnapace) & William Pelletier and Reno Redboy; Aunties; Carla May Kahnapace, Renita Kahnapace & Lana Spyglass; Uncle James Anderson & Derrick Kahnapace; Niece Natasha Runns & Nephew Nathaniel Runns. Lance is survived by his loving mother Arlene Anderson (nee Kahnapace); siblings Charity Kahnapace (Sonny), Terry Kahnapace (Liesha), Leslie Anderson (Melvin), Morley Kahnapace, Myron Kahnapace, Robin Bird, Emily Key & Nelson Kahnapace (Roseanne); special cousins Aaron & Mitchell Anderson, Morgan, Emil, Maurice & Heather Spyglass; special aunties Dale Grey (Terry) and Charlene Fields; special uncles Windy Anderson (Loretta) and John Anderson (Sherry) and along with many nieces, nephews, relatives & friends. Lance will always be remembered by all those who knew him and loved him. We will never forget the day the Eagles came to escort Lance home. Wake will be held Sunday, April 17, 2011 at 4:00 PM at Gordon First Nation Old School Gymnasium. Funeral Service to also take place there on Monday, April 18, 2011 at 2:00 PM.

ANDERSON - Mary Rose Cook (Osaw Piyesiw) was taken by the Lord October 3, 2005 at the age of 47. Predeceased by her Grandparents Albert and Helen Cyr, Mary and Mike Longman, grandson Christian Geddes and first husband Vern Kequahtooway. Mary is survived by her husband Kelly, her children, Jolene (Robin), Christopher, Amanda (Rick), Glen, Mary (Harold), Mike and Kelly Jr., eleven grandchildren, parents Frank and Lucy Cyr, two sisters, seven brothers and numerous relatives and inlaws, including friends at Women of the Dawn, where she worked for eleven years with women and their families tirelessly. Mary was a friend to all her co-workers, Ivy Kennedy, Charlene Crevier, Sonya Scales, Linda Zimmer, Elder Sarah Gordon and her very special friend Gloria Kaiswatum. A Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 5, 2005 between 79 P.M. in the Chapel of Lee Funeral Home, 3101 Dewdney Ave. The Wake will take place on Thursday, October 6, 2005 at 5:00 P.M. in the George Gordon Gym, Gordon First Nation. The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, October 7, 2005 at 2:00 P.M. in the Gordon Gym, with William Pinacie, officiating. Burial to follow in the Longman Cemetery, Gordon First Nation.

ANDERSON - Monique (Clarisa) Anderson (Singing Buffalo Woman) July 25, 1991– March 3, 2016. It is with great sadness that the family of Monique (Clarisa) Anderson, aka Mika, announce her sudden passing on Thursday, March 3, 2016. She was predeceased by her grandfather, Wilf Anderson, who she called Daddy; grandmother Marlene Longman. She is survived by 2 beautiful children: son Roan; daughter Scarlette, mom (grandma) Elaine; grandfather Raymond Pelletier; momma Lorna (stepdad Doug); father Darryl (Tanya); brothers Marc, Darcy, Darryl Jr., Ethan, Layton, Jayron, Landon and Brenan; sisters Darylea (Luke), Latysha, Shaylom and Amiah; special uncle Arthur Anderson; and numerous aunties, uncles, cousins and friends. Wake will be held in the new gym of the George Gordon First Nation, Sask., Friday, March 11, 2016, at 4 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held Saturday, March 12, at 2 p.m. in the same location.

ANDERSON - Oliver Harold "Dude" (September 6, 1935 - December 28, 2011). Oliver was suddenly taken by the Creator to join his parents, Willie and Mabel Anderson, his siblings, Jim and Doug, nephew Lance (Poohman), uncle Howard Anderson; aunts Mary J. Pratt, Lena Brass and Gwen Pratt, in the Spirit World. He leaves to mourn, his partner for many years, Mary (Phil); sisters, Christina, Gladys and Dale (Terry); brothers, Brent (Loretta) and John (Sherri); Children, Brenda (Steve), Dwayne, Dale, Myra (Deno), Loretta (Randy), Kelly (Lorelei), Shelly (Elvis), Pamela (Danny). Special grandchildren that he and Mary raised from infancy, RJ, Witchie (Arnold) and Tyler (Sweetie), 24 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren, sisters-in-law, numerous nieces and nephews and extended grandkids. He had a life-long passion for playing pool and his pool playing friends will miss him greatly. He lived in Regina and made every effort to come and visit the grandchildren and lil greats who he loved so dearly. He would come for coffee and visit even if it was for 20 minutes. We will miss you and God be with you till we meet again. Wake will be held Sunday, January 1, 2012 at 4:00 pm at Gordon First Nation Old Gymnasium. Funeral Service to also be held there Monday, January 2, 2012 at 1:00 pm.

ANDERSON - Wilf (April 17, 1932 - November 17, 2012). Wilf of George Gordon First Nation passed away peacefully on November 17, 2012 at the Pasqua hospital in Regina at the age of 80. He was a Korean War Veteran. Wilf was predeceased by his Parents Walter and Jenny and son Douglas McNab, brothers Orville and Calvin, and sisters June and Frieda. He is survived by his wife Elaine and children; Lorna (Doug) , Shelly (Greg), Brian, Heather (James), Edward (Lisa), and Jackie (Jon). He also leaves to mourn brothers Rev. Arthur (Elaine), and Gary (Bonnie), sisters Muriel (Dave), Eileen (Don), and Myrna. He has 28 grandchildren, five of which he raised as his own children; Monique, Darylea, Latysha, Darryl and Shaylom; and three great-grandchildren. Wilf was known for his great sense of humor and storytelling, and he will be sadly missed. Wake will be held in the old gym of the George Gordon First Nation, Sask., on Wednesday, November 21, 2012, at 4:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held Thursday, November 22, 2012 at 2:00 p.m., in the same location. Interment to follow at St. Luke's cemetery, George Gordon First Nation.

ASSOON - Michael Bernard Jr. (Boyee) May 2, 1952 – March 5, 2015. It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of our beautiful husband, son, father, brother, grandfather, uncle. Mike passed away suddenly Thursday, March 5, 2015 on the George Gordon First Nation. He was predeceased by his mother Isabelle Assoon; brother Wllie Assoon; mother-in-law Sybil Geddes; son-in-law Delaney Longman. Mike is survived by his loving wife of 23 years Irma Assoon; father Michael Assoon Sr; daughters Candace, Nicole, MJ (Bucky); sons Shaun (Robyn), Brandon (Melissa); sisters Sandra (Buddy), Donna (Doug); brothers Walter (Beatrice), Raymond, Neil (Delores), Greg (Charlene); two very special grandsons, Mikey & AJ; numerous other grandchildren, nieces, Nephews; special friends Henry, Glen and Steve Geddes. Wake will be held Monday, March 9, 2015 in the old gym of the George Gordon First Nation at 4:00 pm. Funeral Service held Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at 2:00 pm in the same location.

BAPTISTE - Wihkes Pierre Nate Baptiste (1994 -2010). It is with the greatest of sorrows that the family of Pierre announce his tragic and untimely passing on Saturday, April 17, 2010 at the age of 15 years young. Left to cherish his special memories is his Mother Lavern (aka Jane) Baptiste; father Nathan (Loretta) Bitternose; maternal grandfather Lawrence Konchinew ( Shirley); paternal special grandparents David Cyr & Marina Bitternose; Grandpa Phillip Bitternose; siblings Megan, Amanda, Natalie, Deidra (Dustin), Chelsie, Braidon, Tashina, Denise, Lane & Jorja; stepbrothers Tyrell & Evan; nieces D'Lila-Lily, Azureana; nephew Colin as well as numerous other uncles, aunts, cousins, extended family and friends. Pierre is reunited in heaven with maternal great-grandparents Archie & Alice Northwest; great-grandparents Nathan (Pete) & Marjorie Bitternose & Grandmother Joyce Northwest. Wake will take place, tonight, Wednesday, April 21, 2010 at 4:00 P.M. at Gordon First Nation Gymnasium. Funeral Service will also be held there, Thursday, April 22, 2010 at 11:00 A.M.

BEAR - Martha Rae Bear Smarties (1987 - 2012). Martha passed away February 24, 2012 at the age of 24. She is survived by her loving parents: Albert Longman and Laurie Bear; her partner George Toto; stepchildren Karis and Anthony (Peach) Toto; siblings: James Bear (Lorraine), Lindsey (Lee), Cheryl, Alberta-Rose; adopted siblings: Dilynn Kehler, Cassandra Konotopski, John Anderson, Jeremy Longman; grandparents Rose and Gordon Lafontaine, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends who she considered family. Martha is predeceased by her daughter Betty Lynn Bear; great-grandparents: Micheal and Mary Longman, Helen and Albert Cyr, Martha Chipa and Robert Muskwa, Alfred and Ida Bear; and grandparents George Longman Sr, Alice Longman, Isaac Bear and Betty Bear. Wake will be held on Monday, February 27, 2012 at 4:00 pm at Gordon First Nation Gym. Funeral will be held Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at 1:00 PM at Gordon First Nation Gym.

BELANGER - Irene Marie Rose (nee Bird). On Saturday, July 17, 2004 Irene Marie Rose, passed away peacefully and joined her Creator, at the age of 62 years. She was predeceased by her husband Mervin Belanger; parents Andrew (Florence nee Cyr) Bird; grandparents Jacob (Rachel nee McDonald) Bird, Frank (Agnes nee Longman) Cyr; brothers Rodney, Richard, Gerald and Robert; sister Shirley and nephew Darren Pinacie Bird. Irene is survived by her brothers Ivan (Darlene) and Sidney (Myrtle); sisters Valerie (Les) and Cheryl (Glen) Alexson; Uncle Casper Poorman; children Ron (Donna), Irma (Wendel), Leona (Lyndon), Stan (D'nita), Pam (Edward) Hunter, Terry Cook-Bird, Janelle (Steven), Marilyn Key, Douglas (Deanna) Smoker, Darcey (Maci) Kaysaywayseemat; adopted son Gordon (Viola) Favel; twenty-seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Irene had the greatest sense of humor, generosity and an overwhelming love for her grandchildren. The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, July 21, 2004 at 2:00 P.M. in the Gordon First Nation Gymnasium, Gordon First Nation, SK, Elder Albert Oochoo, Rev. Arthur Anderson and Dale Gillman, officiating. The Interment to follow in the Bird-Pelletier Cemetery. A Wake will be held on Tuesday, July 20, 2004 at 4:00 P.M. in the Gordon First Nation Gymnasium. Very special thanks and gratitude to the staff at the Wascana Rehabilitation Centre for caring for our mother.

BIGSKY - Storm Stanley Blaze Bigsky (Kehiw-Awasis) It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Storm Stanley Blaze Bigsky. Storm was a blessing and a joy to have come into our lives and has changed us for the better. Storm was predeceased by his great grandparents George and Alice Longman, Eben Whitehawk, Ramona Whitehawk, Wilbert Favel, Lily Dustyhorn/Desjarlais, Frank Akan, Margaret Bigsky/Kay; grandpa Charlie Cyr, Stanley Bigsky; brother Antonio Blaze Kakakaway; uncles Greg Dustyhorn, Alexander Bigsky. Storm is survived by his parents James Bigsky, Celeste Whitehawk; brother Jayme Strongeagle; sister Pheonix Bigsky; grandparents John Lavallie, Shirley Whitehawk, Doreen Dustyhorn; great grandparents Richard Whitehawk (Madeline) Therese Bigsky; uncles Gregory Redwood, Troy Whitehawk, Jordan Bigsky, Joe Dustyhorn (Farrah); aunts Vanessa Redwood, Chantel Dustyhorn, Krystal Bigsky. As well as other numerous aunts and uncles. Pallbearers Troy Whitehawk, Jordan Bigsky, Gregory Redwood, Joe Dustyhorn. A wake will be held on Tuesday December 27, 2011 at 4pm at Gordon's First Nations school gym as well as a funeral service on Wednesday December 28, 2011 at 2:00 pm at Gordon's First Nation School gym. Elder officiating is Alvin Sangret assisted by other Elders.

BIRD - Irma Marie (April 10, 1961 - September 10, 2006), age 45 years was taken suddenly from all who loved her. She is in the arms of our Creator. Irma was predeceased by her grandparents, Andrew and Florence (nee Cyr) Bird; mother, Irene (nee Bird) Belanger; father, Sanford Fisher and uncles, Robert (Big Bird) and Jerry. Irma will be lovingly remembered by her companion, Wendell Machiskinic; sons, Robin, Johnathon (Sam); daughter, Michael and her adopted son, Dewy. She will be dearly missed by grandchildren, April, Rhianna, Nicholas and Johnathon; brothers, Ronnie (Donna), Stan (D'nita), Terry (Kathi), Johnny (Darlene), Danny, Warren and Anthony; adopted brother, Gordie (Vi); sisters, Leona (Lyndon), Pam, Janelle (Steve), Mikey (Greg), Laura, Shirley and Lila (Dusky); special niece, Darlyn Bird will sorrowfully miss her Nana; Very special parents, Paul and Hazel Chartran; aunts, Val (Les) Along and Cheryl (Glen) Alexson, as well as numerous other aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews and her dear friends and co-workers of Touchwood Child and Family Services, where Irma worked with dedication for over 10 years. Traditional First Nation Funeral will begin at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, September 14, 2006 with Elders officiating. Interment will follow in the Bird/Pelletier Family Cemetery.

BIRD - Sidney Francis Bird (April 23, 1947 – June 16, 2015). Sidney was called home by the Creator on June 16, 2015, at the age of 68. The wake will be held Friday, June 19, 2015 at 4:00 p.m. at the old gym, George Gordon First Nation. The funeral will be held Saturday, June 20 at 2:00 p.m. at the same location.

BIRD - Virgina. Our Mother, Grandmother Virgina Bird went home on February 23, 2011. Predeceased by her parents and her loving husband Ernest Bird, lovingly remembered by her daughters; Leona, Etheline, Sandra (Bob) and Pauline (Blair), and numerous grandchildren, greatgreat-grandchildren & great-great-greatgrandchildren as well as her brothers and sisters. A wake will be held at Gordon's First Nation on Sunday, February 27, 2011 at 4:00 P.M. A Funeral Service on Monday, February 28, 2011 at Gordon's First Nation at 2:00 P.M. The family requests that no children are present at the wake after 6:00 P.M.

BIRD - William Ernest. On Monday, July 15, 2002 William Ernest Bird, late of Gordon First Nation, SK passed away suddenly at the age of 56 years. He was predeceased by his father Ernest Bird; brothers Glen and Orville; sister Vera and nephew Richard. William is survived by his wife D. Lorraine McNab; children Denise (Jason) and Shane: grandchildren Theoren, Keenen, Nigel, Gabrielle and Shania; mother Virginia Bird; sisters Leona (Maurice), Ethlene, Sandra (Bob) and Pauline (Blair); numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. A Wake will be held on Thursday, July 18, 2002 at 4:00 P.M. in the Gordon First Nation Gymnasium. The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, July 19, 2002 at 2:00 P.M. in the Gordon First Nation Gymnasium with burial to follow in St. Luke's Cemetery.

BITTERNOSE - Bradley Troy (August 29, 1971 - October 19, 2013). It's with great sadness that we announce the passing of our Father, Husband, Brother, Uncle, Grandfather, Friend - Bradley Troy Bitternose who passed away October 19th, 2013 in Regina, SK. He is predeceased by his parents Lawrence Geddes, Maxine Bitternose, Brother Terry Bitternose, Sister Keitha Bitternose, Grandmother Melba, Aunts Charlene, Patricia, and Bernice. He leaves to mourn his wife Sheryl, Daughters Saundra (Damian), Jasmine (Conrad), Shyla, Son Jayden, Grandson Juelius, Father-in-law Richard, Mother-in-law Marilyn, Mother Sharon Gambler (John) and numerous brothers and sisters. The wake will be held at 4:00 pm on Thursday, October 24th, 2013 on George Gordon First Nation at the gym, funeral to follow on Friday, October 25th, 2013 at 2:00 pm.

BITTERNOSE - Brian Bazz William Bitternose (May 16, 1955 - March 21, 2010). It is with great sadness and sorrow that the family of Bazz announce his peaceful passing, surrounded by his family's love on Sunday, March 21, 2010. He is reunited in the spirit world with his mother Evelyn; Aunt Flora and mother-in-law Theresa. Left to cherish his fond memorieshis wife of 37 years Lucille Mitza; daughters Terry-Lynn (Mozz), Steppy (John), Danielle (Clarence); son Utin; grandchildren Demary, Chazz, Jayleen, Aiden, Jacob, Tovie, Nitanis, Kymbralee, Johniya, Talia, Autumn and Winter; father William; brothers Eddy (Laverne), Kelly (Tracey); sisters Mary (Leon) and Marcia; father-in-law Leslie; special cousins Darcy and Harvey; special friend Girlie as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Bazz fought courageously against many illnesses, and will always be remembered for his strong will, fighting spirit and never ending humor and witright to the very end of his life. BITTERNOSE - Brooklyn Margaret Marie Bitternose (June 16, 2011 - June 20, 2011). Our little angel, Brooklyn, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, June 20, 2011. Welcoming her into heaven are many family members. Left to cherish her memory are her loving mom Chasity (Shane); big sisters Makayla and Paige; grandparents Lyle & Evelyn; special aunt Margaret (Ray); uncle Eugene (Danielle); and extended family. The family wants to extend a very special thankyou to Dr. P. Murthy, and nurses Alison & Joy of the N.I.C.U. at the General Hospital for everything that they did during Brooklyn's short life. Wake will be held Thursday, June 23, 2011 at 4:00 PM at 529-5th Avenue, Punnichy, SK. Funeral Service will also be held there on Friday, June 24, 2011 at 11:00 AM with Allen Walker officiating. Interment to follow at St. Luke's Cemetery, Gordon First Nation SK.

BITTERNOSE - Charles Henry. On Sunday, April 1, 2007 Charles Henry "Big Guy" passed away at the age of 49 years. Charles was predeceased by his parents Nathan "Pete " Bitternose and Marjorie (Cyr) Bitternose and by his brothers Gary, Sidney and Theodore. He is survived by his loving wife Sadie; children; Twila, Woody, Charity, Ducky (Mike), Amber, Shayla and Brandon; and also adopted children; Joyce (Victor) and Candace (Howard). BITTERNOSE - Delphine Lucy (December 12, 1962 – April 3, 2016). Delphine passed away peacefully with her family at her side on April 3, 2016, in Regina, Sask. She was predeceased by her parents Nathan and Marjorie; siblings Charles, George, Gary, Sidney and Theodore. Delphine will be lovingly remembered by her siblings Marina and Ivan; children William (Tamara) and Trevor, special nephew Nathan (Louise), special friends Tina, Elvina; special cousins Ivy and Melvina; numerous nieces, nephews and friends. She lived a happy life and was loved by her friends and family. Thanks to the staff of the Regina General Hospital for the care Delphine received. BITTERNOSE - Denita Bitternose (April 18, 1964 – February 13, 2015). Denita passed away peacefully with her family at her side on February 13, 2015, in Regina Sask. Called away suddenly to the Spirit World July 9, 2010 at the age of 45 years, Bugsy was predeceased by maternal grandparents Edna and Moses Strongeagle; paternal grandparents Harriet & Jim McNab and stepson Pierre. Bugsy leaves to walk this earth, her husband Nathan; children Tyrell, Evan & Natalie; stepchildren Megan, Amanda & Denise; grandson Colin; father Mike (Glenda) McNab; mother Shirley McNab; siblings Melinda (Peter), Ramona, Mark (Ger), Wendy, Lawrence, Rita (Merv) as well as many nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, cousins & friends. Loretta worked for 23 years with the federal government within the department of Indian Affairs, working at the sub office on George Gordon First Nation and then back in Regina. Loretta also made many friends as she was an avid ball player, playing for the Regina Raiders as right fielder and for the Gordon Ladies. BITTERNOSE - Phillip Floyd Bitternose (December 14, 1937 – April 24, 2015). After a long battle with cancer, Phillip passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side. He was predeceased by parents George and Rose Bitternose (nee Whitehawk); son Phillip Jr.; daughter Phyllis; brothers Raymond, Kenneth, Nathan, Alfred; sisters Jesse, Mabel, Camilla, Gladys, and Velma. Phillip is survived by his loving wife Mary Anderson; daughters Becky, Pam (Bubba), Anita, Ramona; son Robert Pratt "Chocolate Bob" (Charity); stepchildren Brenda, Dwayne, Dale, Myra, Loretta, Kelly, Shelly, Pam; sister Rena Pelletier (Jack) and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and extended family members. Phillip will be remembered for his humor, kindness and compassion even in difficult times. He developed many devoted friends as well as family over the years and will be missed dearly by all. BITTERNOSE - Sidney Thomas (January 18, 1963 - September 1, 2005).In loving memory of a dear husband, father, brother and grandfather. Sid was born and raised on Gordon First Nation. He was a committed, caring and dedicated individual who often went above and beyond the call of duty. His talents made him an exceptional employee within the justice system. Sid's passions included spending time with family. He particularly enjoyed special times with his grandson Austin. During his spare time, he loved to golf. BLIND - Robert "Bob" Blind (Matwe Kito Kihew) was called home by the Creator on February 19, 2005 at the age of 54 years. Bob served the Gordon First Nation as a Councillor for 26 years and was proprietor of Strongeagle Brothers Parnerships where he was cabinet maker for 25 years. His favorite pastimes were golfing and hunting. He was predeceased by his grandparents, John and Ethel Blind and Antwaine and Frizene Strongeagle; parents Moses and Violet and his brothers Buddy, Wayne and Sidney. Bob leaves to celebrate his life, his loving wife, Olive; his children Dawn (Ken) Sinclair, Robert Blind Jr., Chad Blind, Greg (Lindsey) Blind, Angie (Randell) Blind and daughter-in-law Danita McNab. Papa's laughter and tickles will be missed by his grandchildren Jake, Kristian, Kayla, Cameron, Sara, Katelynn and Kyla. BLIND - Thomas Samuel 'Tricky'. On Thursday, January 20, 2005, our Dad, Thomas Samuel Sr. passed away at the Lestock Hospital at the age of 84 years. He was predeceased by his parents John and Ethel Blind, sisters, Violet Wodke, Irene Blind and Mildred Hunter, brothers, Ernest, John, and Sidney Blind, wife Marion (nee Morris), daughter Connie, grandson Richard and great-grandson Jonathon. He will be deeply missed by his sisters, Joan Pratt and Pearl Nabiss, sister-in-law Bernadette Blind. BLIND - Trevor Ryan Blind (November 25, 1968 - June 10, 2011). Our Creator called Trevor home on June 10, 2011. Predeceased by his maternal grandparents Alex and Mary Keenatch; paternal grandparents Violet Wodke(Blind) and Moses Strongeagle; aunts Mary and Rose; & uncles Gordon, Alvin, Bob and Sid. Survived by his mother Rita Blind; father Ernie (Butch) Strongeagle; wife Lisa; their children Jesse (Brittany), Charissa (Andrew) and his son Jeremy (mother Meridee); siblings Jon(Yvette), Michelle(Matt), Roberta(Chris), Phil (Nadine), Alex(Jacqi), Tosh(Wavell), and Jamie; granddaughter Aliera; numerous nephews, nieces, aunts and uncles. Trevor was a member of Iron Workers Local 771, Sask. He enjoyed dancing and participated in all sports, but his love was the Vancouver Canucks. Trevor was very kind-hearted and generous; he always looked out for his family and friends. You could always see him with a smile on his face and constantly making people laugh. BREED Darryl. On December 21, 2007: A Son, a Brother, a Father has been taken from loved ones too soon. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our loved one. Predeceased by his father Ben Gordon and son Derek. CYR - Allan Joseph Cyr (Kitimakeeniwin) December 13, 1943 – March 11, 2014. Allan was called home by the Creator on March 11, 2014 at the age of 70 years. He is survived by his companion Judy Saulteaux; children Cheryle, Alvin, Loretta, Heather; siblings Philomine, Dexter, Sarah, Frank, Rose, (Gordon), Caroline (Denzil), Earl (Noreen), 18 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, numerous nieces and nephews, and special niece Minnie (Terry). Allan was predeceased by parents Albert and Helen, siblings Virginia, Joe, Saraphine, Harriet, Beatrice, Barbara, Rachel, John and Jim; children Merlin and Lionel; grandchildren Ricky and Rusty. She was well loved in her community with everyone she met and always had a great sense of humour and always time for a good laugh. Her favourite past time was playing bingo which was her passion. CYR - Peter Sidney. On Sunday, November 11, 2001 Peter Sidney Cyr, late of Regina, Sask., passed away at the age of 62 years. DANIELS - Lilly Harriet Daniels (Wapimaskwa Iskwew - White Bear Woman) January 21, 1935 – March 24, 2015. Lilly Harriet Daniels passed away at the age of 80 years on Tuesday, March 24, 2015. Surrounded by those who loved her, our brave warrior woman passed peacefully while at the Regina General Hospital. A smudge and circle ceremony was held where prayers, songs and stories were shared about Lilly's special place in everyone's heart. Lilly was born January 21, 1935 on the George Gordon First Nation and was a member of the Kawacatoose First Nation. She lived a full and purposeful 80 years of life, alongside her husband Allan Daniels (deceased) and her six children; Gary (Eliza), Kevin, Lyle (Carol), Liana, Lisa (deceased) and Allan. She was also loved by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, too many to count. Lilly touched the lives of thousands of people, through her generous spirit and community work, including; founding the Rainbow Fancy Dancers Pow Wow Dance Group in the early 1980's; organizing the first daycare for the Regina Native Women's Centre; she went on to work towards treatment for Aboriginal women and youth and Lilly was tireless in her involvement with community initiatives in Regina's North Central community right up to the month that she died. The family wishes to thank the wonderful nursing staff at the Regina General Hospital for the many accommodations made to support the many visitors who came to visit Kookum Lilly. A very special thanks to the Native Services Department at the General Hospital for the cultural support to the family. Lilly's Celebration of Life will start with services and viewing on Friday, March 27, 2015 at 6 p.m. at Sunset United Church in Regina. Traditional services and burial will happen on Saturday, March 28, 2015 at the George Gordon First Nation (New School) at 11:00 a.m. with a meal to follow interment. GEDDES-PRATT - Brandon Alexander Geddes-Pratt (August 1, 1998 – September 28, 2015). Brandon was called home by the Creator unexpectedly at the young age of 17. He was predeceased by his great-grandparents Howard (Melita) Anderson, David (Dorothy) Pratt and Alec (Verna) Geddes. GIELIS - Flora (nee Pelletier) 1938 - 2015. Flora passed away peacefully with family by her side on Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at the age of 76 years. She was predeceased by her husband Henricus Geradus Gielis; brother Nick Pelletier; sister Jean Gordon. Flora is survived by sister Elsie Sayer and her children Diane Gielis (Joe Wright), Helen Gielis, Brenda Gielis, Henrietta (Garth Orminston), Henry Gielis, Debbie Gielis and foster daughter Eve; Brenda's children: Alicia Gielis-Graham (Jon Couse), Alexandra, Joel; Henrietta's children: Dustin Ormiston, Sean and Stephanie Ormiston and their children Cohen and Addison; Henry's children: Henricus, Marcus and Anneliese; Debbie's children: Maggie and Sam and many cousins, nieces, nephews and relatives in Holland. She dedicated her life to raising her six children and grandchildren alongside her husband. Family was important to her and she would take time to visit and help them when they needed her. She always had time to listen and support them in all their various activities. She loved to work with her hands and spent a number of years by her husband's side working in their greenhouse and later helping him in the development and running of the trout ponds. After her husband passed away she was passionate about sharing her love for children by fostering them. Mom loved to travel with Henry and on her own during her retirement years that brought her to many new places in Canada, the US and Holland. Mom was an amazing, generous, strong woman who loved many. GORDON - Benjamin, passed away suddenly at home on Friday, October 11, 2002 at the age of 62 years. Benjamin was predeceased by his parents David and Agnes Gordon, his sister Mary Bird and brothers; Noel Gordon, and George Moses Gordon. Benjamin is survived by his wife Valerie Ewenin, his sisters Sara Nameth (Gordon), her husband Frank, Theresa Gordon (Wayne Breaks), his brother Winston Gordon (Viola Gordon). Benjamin is survived by his children: Gina, Dean, Daryl and William Gordon, grandchildren; Shawna, Larissa, Radene and Sky, also numerous nieces and nephews, and friends. Benjamin was a well respected spiritual man and spiritual healer, with his culture and people, he also had a passion as a great hockey player. GORDON - Tomy Evan. Born February 11, 1961, left this life June 30, 2008, at the age of 47. He was predeceased by his father Evan Brown; brothers, Dennis & Mike Gordon. He leaves to mourn his passing, his beloved mother Teresa Gordon; sisters Dolly, Sandra, Linda, and Tracey; brothers Glen, Edgar and David; Tommy's children, Roxanne, Jason, Chris and Matt, a grandson and a dear relative and friend Sidney J. GORDON - Winston Hugh. It is with a deep sense of sorrow we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, and grandfather, Winston Hugh Gordon on Monday, April 14, 2003 at the age of 60 years. He leaves to mourn, his loving wife Viola and five children, daughters, Marcia (& son Moses), Amy (husband Michael & their children Jennifer, Amos, Scarlett, and Mieka), Tanya (& son Titus); sons, Clark Winston and David Edward; sisters, Sarah, Theresa (Wayne); and brother-in-law Henry Bird. Winston is predeceased by his parents David and Agnes; brothers, Noel, Benjamin and Moses; sister Mary; uncles, Victor and Sidney; numerous nieces, nephews and friends. His grandchildren held a very special place in his heart and he devoted time to participate with them at school functions, accompanying them to movies, bowling, etc. He especially enjoyed watching his grandsons play hockey. In the early years, Winston himself enjoyed playing hockey, being a team member for the Gordon Golden Hawks. Encounters with former Golden Hawk players and hockey fans would initiate endless hours recounting Golden Hawk exploits. His life on the Gordon Reserve was spent haying, raising horses, working on his truck and spending time with friends. Winston was committed to providing for his family to the fullest capacity and was a long time member of the Construction and Labour Union in Regina. During the latter part of his years, Winston embraced his calling to the ministry - preaching/teaching God's word. With the support of his wife, family and friends, he founded the Lighthouse Tabernacle of Regina where he held the position of pastor until his passing. Winston was a person of integrity and honesty fulfilling his Christian duty by not allowing anything to discourage his walk with God. Winston served God without losing faith enduring the many hardships of life and his walk becoming a personal one. The family would like to thank the nurses and doctors of the Pasqua Hospital, and William Booth Special Care Home who were involved with Winston's care during the past few months. It is with great sorrow that the family of Clifford Peter Hunter (Kajuice) of Gordon First Nation announce his journey into the Spirit world, Tuesday, February 6, 2007 at Lakeview Lodge, Standing Buffalo First Nation. Clifford was born August 9, 1935 at Muskowekwan First Nation, but resided on the Gordon First Nation. He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Harry and Sarah (Bruce) Hunter. Maternal grandparents Mike and Mary Longman. Parents Peter and Helen (Longman) Hunter, wife Mildred (Blind), children: Janice Bitternose, Kathy Pratt, aunts: Rosa Oochoo, Mary Jane Wolfe and Bertha Longman. Clifford leaves to cherish his memory, children: Elaine Cyr, Mike (Helen) Hunter, Choppy (Marilyn) Hunter, Slim (Rose) Hunter, Dayle Hunter, Bubba (Pam) Hunter, Blackie (Marlene) Hunter, Tata (Wayne) Dustyhorn, Vern Hunter, Sheldon (Christine) McNab, Rae-Anne McNab, Oscar (Lana) McNab, Loalan (Baron) Terry, Clifton Hunter, Janice Hunter, Helen Hunter and Allan Hunter. HUNTER - Jacqueline (Jackie) Marie began her Spiritual Journey on November 11, 2015 at the age of 36 years. Here he met and married Maggie Morin. He was later stationed in Montreal Lake, SK. In 1985, he retired and returned to Gordon First Nation - raising his family. He served on council for Gordon First Nation and began practicing his culture and traditions. Mike had an affection for the grape vine and was somewhat of a trickster with his stories. LONGMAN - Edward Roy, late of Gordon First Nation, Sask., passed away on Tuesday, July 13, 2004 at the age of 62 years. LONGMAN - Lorraine Nelda Longman passed away on December 24, 2012 in Saskatoon. She was born on March 29, 1949 at Gordons First Nations, Saskatchewan to parents, Emma Longman and Victor Gordon. Her family includes, grandparents, Mary (Pelletier) and Michael Longman and siblings, Mary (Stonne), Dave, Gary, Sarah, Janice, Joseph, and George and Victor Longman. MATECHUCK- Rina May Matechuck (Wapan) We are sad to announce the sudden passing of our beloved, Rina Matechuck (Wapan). She passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 16, 2010. Rina was a beautiful, smart, funny, spiritual young woman who was very free spirited. Rina was a great mother to her children and enjoyed living life to the fullest. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends that she touched in the short time she had with us. MCNAB - Angus (August 26, 1913 - March 1, 2001). Angus McNab, late of Gordon First Nation, SK, was predeceased by his wife Agnes; three sons in infancy; parents Colin McNab and Hattie Whitecloud; step-mother Agnus McNab; sisters and brothers Mabel Bitternose, Arthur McNab, Edwin McNab, Bella DuFour and Jean McNab. Angus is survived by his daughter Merla Copeland; step-son Ronnie McNab; granddaughters Sheryl of Switzerland, Brenda and Donna both of Alberta; brother Victor McNab and sister Pearl LaPlante as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Angus was a proud man who fought bravely for the Great White Mother and his country in the European theatre of the Second World War. When Angus returned from the war he continued his occupation as a craftsman while living on Gordon First Nation. Also, Angus was an active member in the Saskatchewan First Nation Veterans' Association until his health began to restrict these activities. All First Nation Veterans will be Honorary Pallbearers. MCNAB - Martin Philip. It is with great sadness that we announce the loss of our loved one, Martin Philip, on April 23, 2005. Martin was born November 1, 1965 and passed away at age 39 following a lengthy illness. With loving family at her bedside, MaryAnn Helen McNab (nee Gull) of the Gordon First Nation passed peacefully into the arms of her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, May 29th, 2007. Predeceased by her parents, Sam and Christine Gull, one son Wayne Robert Gull-McNab, one grandson, 3 sisters Helen Gull, Rosann Gruvelle, Florence House and brother Louis Gull. Thos left to cherish her memory are her husband of 40 years, Melvin McNab, her children, Cindy (Brian) Bisson, Sam, Troy (Alana), Donnette (Laverne) Faithful, Aaron (Connie), Anthony, Eric, Jordan and Darcie. She also leaves 25 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren all of whom will miss their loving `Kookoo'. It is with saddened hearts we announce the passing of William Thomas Morris from George Gordon First Nation on Friday, February 18, 2011, surrounded by his loving family, at the age of 92 years. He is predeceased by one son Kenneth Pratt; 4 brothers John, Eric, Sidney & Glen; 2 grandsons John Mills & Kurt Morris. William was born at Kutawa and lived on George Gordon Fist Nation for most of his life farming and raising cattle. He was employed as George Gordon First Nation's Welfare Administrator, and was a bus driver and band councilor for many years. He will be fondly remembered by all who knew him for his stories, jokes, and rhymes that he could tell at any given timenice ones and not so nice ones, depending on his audience of the moment. His greatest gift was making people laugh everywhere he went. He was very thoughtful, kind, and loving, especially when it came to his family. PASCAL-PELLETIER - Elaine Rose (nee Pelletier). On Saturday, January 28th, 2006, Elaine Rose Pascal-Pelletier, went home to be with her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, at the age of 54 years. PELLETIER - Gladys Irene (May 16, 1930 - March 4, 2013) Gladys Irene Pelletier "A woman with a beautiful voice" born May 16, 1930, on the Little Bone First Nation, passed away peacefully at the age of 82 with her children and grandchildren at her side. Gladys was predeceased by her parents James Kinistino and Ester Keewatin/Stepmother Josephine Pelletier, stepsister Dolly Kinistino, husband Dan Pelletier, sons Donald Ross Bird and Ivan Pelletier. Clayton (Herbie) Pratt was a residential school survivor. He passed away suddenly on October 23, 2010 at the age of 48. He will be sadly missed by his children Amber (Jonathan), Christopher, Clayton jr., Jordan; first grandchild Brooklynn; brothers Wayne (Geraldine), Verne (Diane), Garry (Marilyn), Dennis (Val), Ronald Tom, Brian (Shelley); sister Beverly (Mark); and special partner Sharon; as well as a large extended family of aunts, uncles and cousins. PRATT - Gwen Pratt, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, aunt and special friend to many, passed away peacefully on October 22, 2005 at the age of 87 in Lestock Hospital, Lestock, Sask. She was predeceased by her husband Bennett Pratt, parents Mary-Jane and David Anderson, sons Roland, Campbell and Glen, daughters Catherine, Ruth and Orma and special granddaughter Deborah (Cookie). PRATT - Kenneth William, born May 25, 1946, was called home on August 28, 2006, at the age of 60 years. He leaves behind his loving companion and friend Linda and her children Jessica, Tara, and Brent; his mother Betty; father and stepmother Bill and Lillian; sons Terry (Lilah), Brian (Ava) and Jordan; daughters Michelle (Todd) and Danielle (Bill); brothers; Wayne (Alice), Billy, Derek (Helen), Ian (Nadine) and Duane (Simone); sisters Hazel (Derek), Dale (Bill), Rita (Herman) and Cathy (Terry); brothers-in-law Bill and Wayne; sister-inlaw Eleanor; Godchildren Sheldon, Jason, and Victoria; special friend Melvin; 21 grandchildren; 1 great granddaughter; and numerous nieces and nephews. Ken's first love was horses, creating his first chariot after watching the original Ben Hur movie. After serving 27 years in the Canadian Armed Forces, Ken returned home to the Gordon First Nation and took up the hobby of Pony Chuck Wagon and Chariot Racing. As the Co-Coordinator of the Bold Eagle Militia Program, Ken helped many of our youth accomplish their goals. He was recently elected as a band councilor for the Gordon First Nation. Mary passed away peacefully at home with family around her. Richard is predeceased by his mother, Elaine McNab, brother Doug Pratt, uncles Joe, Roland, Cambell, Michael (J-Boy) and Alec, aunts, Orma, Ruth, Catherine, Mary, Margie and Audrey, grandparents Gilbert, Kate, Bennett and Gwen, cousins Debbie Cyr, Gary McNab, Sharon Cyr, Terrence McNab, Sam McNab and nephew Lawrance Quewezance. Richard is survived by his wife Sharon, his children Clifford (Jessica), Corey, Chad, Cody, Donica, Keanu, David and Natasha and nine grandchildren. Also his father David (Barb) and mother-in-law Hazel Desjarlais, siblings Robert (Lena), Kevin (Anna), Lillian (Stanley) and Dean (Loretta) and numerous nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.

PRATT - Thelma (February 14, 1929 - January 17, 2006) of George Gordon First Nation. Predeceased by her parents, George and Charlotte Pratt; sisters: Emily, Marion, Beatrice and Oral; brother, Ralph; and her children: Robert (Bob), Allan, Hubert, Barbara and Wilfred; Thelma is survived by her brother, Clarence (Alice); daughters: Leona, Olive, Mary Margaret (Alvin) and Dale (Joe); sons: Hugh (Vicki), Melvin (Joanne) and Marvin (Rina); 24 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren; 1 great, great grandchild; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Wake will be held on Thursday, January 19, 2006 at George Gordon First Nation Gymnasium. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, January 20, 2006 at 2:00 P.M. in the Gymnasium with Rev. Arthur Anderson and Vicky Young, officiating. Thelma lived a life full of love and laughter and she will be missed by many.

Lawrence was predeceased by his father Douglas Cyr, maternal grandfather Roland Pratt, Aunty Ramona Nahpootican (Pratt). SCHOENTHAL-MCNAB - Samuel Brandon, born June 29, 2001, is resting in the arms of an Angel. He left us on Tuesday, March 18, 2003 and will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his mother Dawn Schoenthal, father Clifford McNab; brother Tyler, sister Kendra; grandparents Celina (Mike) McNab, Carol (Richard) Bourassa; great-grandparents Orval (Grace) Schoenthal and Florence Bourassa and special Auntie Alison as well as numerous uncles, aunts and cousins. Samuel was predeceased by great-grandparents Barbara and John McNab, Uncle Tubby, Aunt Linda, Aunt Anne McNab and Uncle Kenny McNab. A special thank-you to the staff and counselors at S.W.A.P. for the joy brought to Samuel's life. SEVERIGHT - Evelyn Marie (November 21, 1958 – February 10, 2014). Evelyn passed away peacefully on Monday, February 10, 2014 with her family by her side. The Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. in the old gym of the George Gordon First Nation on Friday, February 14, 2014.

SEVERIGHT - Stella Marjorie (nee Cyr-Bird) passed away peacefully on Friday, January 7, 2005 at St. Joseph's Integrated Care Centre, Lestock, SK, at the age of 75 years. Stella was predeceased by her husband Ralph Ernest Severight, sons: Harold (Butch) Shingoose, Ernest, Alvin, Edward, Johnny, Ralph Jr. and Terry, two daughters: Ruby and Gloria, parents John Cyr and Priscilla Bird. She leaves to mourn her brother Frank E. (Rose) Cyr, four sisters: Madeline Pratt, Ruby McNab, Victoria Cyr and Alice (Paul) Fisher, brother-in-law Clarence (Alice) Pratt, sister-in-law Thelma Pratt, two sons: Robert (Brenda) and Hector, four daughters: Emily, Patricia (Morley), Evelyn and Marie, special grandchildren: Sheri Severight, Patrick Severight, Cindy Cyr, Shaun LaQuette, Angela Severight, Shanna Beauman & Robin Beauman, 31 grandchildren & 33 great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews & cousins. Prayers will be held on Monday, January 10, 2005 at 6 P.M. at the Gordon First Nation Gymnasium with the Wake to follow.

SINCLAIR - Kenneth Grant (April 25, 1959 - September 21, 2011). Kenneth Grant Sinclair, Kak-Si-Hat Peyeso (Fast Flying Thunderbird) passed away peacefully at his home in Gordon First Nation, SK. on September 21, 2011 at the age of 52. He will be lovingly remembered by his children: Jaqueline, John (Rae), Jacob (Kim) and Sara and his granddaughter Chanai. He is survived by his parents, Jim and Agnes Sinclair, brother Brian (Trisha), sisters, Wendy (Zennon), Kim (Chad), Fern (Rick), Karen (Pat) and Amanda (Kyle). His special aunt and uncle, Alice and Clarence Pratt and sister Patty Pratt (Bob). He also leaves to mourn his wife, Dawn who always remained the love of his life. Ken was predeceased by his granddaughter, Isabella, his grandparents, John and Helen Sinclair and Gilbert and Katherine McNab, and his best friend and father-in-law Bob Blind. Ken was born at Lestock, Sask. on April 25, 1959 and moved to Regina where he attended school at Rosemont and Martin Collegiate. He began his career as a reporter for the New Breed Magazine and later became the Director of the Metis Addictions Council for a number of years. Ken was very passionate about the game of golf and achieved his professional designation as a Class "A" Golf Professional with the Canadian Professional Golf Association. Ken became a managing director of RES Management and with his friend Don Ross, operated the Regina Beach Golf Club until the time of his death. After marrying his wife Dawn in 1998, Ken moved back to Gordon First Nation where he always remained deeply rooted. His concerns for the social and economic disparities for on reserve First Nations led him to become actively involved in his community. For a number of years Ken sat on Council for the Gordon First Nation and later served as Chief for one term. Ken made a remarkable contribution to the social, economic and cultural lives of First Nations but Ken will be most remembered for his achievements in hockey and golf and for the mentorship and support he provided to the many youth who greatly admired him for his game and the positive contribution he made to their lives. But his proudest legacy is his four children and granddaughter. His greatest pleasure was hunting and most favorite time of year was fall where he would walk endless hours with nature and he would often comment about how intrigued he was by its beautiful landscapes. His love of life could be seen in everything he did: from hunting and golfing, to cooking and politics. His generous spirit, quick wit and wonderful sense of humour will always be cherished by those who knew him. In particular, his facebook friends who looked forward to his daily posts of teasing, his words of encouragement, and to his words of reflection and wisdom. Ken we will miss the sound of your laughter. We will miss your stories and the teasing. We will miss your compassion and commitment and your strength and courage. You are greatly loved and admired by many. Your illness took you from us too soon. But your struggle is over, travel well my friend. A special thank you to Warren Longman and Hugh Pratt who assisted Ken in his time of need. A celebration of Ken's life will commence with his wake on Monday, September 26, 2011 at 4:00 p.m. at the George Gordon Education Center Gym and his service will be held on September 27, 2011 starting at 11:00 a.m. with Art Anderson, Vicky Young and Austin Kay officiating. Interment will follow and take place at St. Luke's Anglican Church.

SPENCE - William "Bill" Hector Spence (He Who Stands On A Hill In A Place Of Green Grass). Bill was born May 19, 1948 and left us for the Spirit World on October 25, 2011. He reunites with his father Ahab Spence, father-in-law Harry Favel, and brothers-in-law Blaine, Ken, and Charles. Left to cherish his memory are his sons William Cory, William Bradley (Karen), William Jason (Shyla), William Charles (Crystal), and William Braydon; their mother Cathy; his loving mother Bette Spence; brothers Byron, Bruce, and Barry; sisters Janet and June; spouse Ruth; her children Joseph (Angie), Stephanie (Martin), Fallan (Tom), Quinn (Tyrone) and Nikki; his grandchildren Sammy-Jo, Anastassia (Royce) Zayna (Dashley), Daniel, Tatum, Hunter, and Uriah, greatgrandchildren Canen, Sir William Sigmund, Lyra, and Gagerean; mother-in-law Betty Favel; brother-in-law Duane; sisters-in-law Rita (Herman), Eleanor and Arlene (John); special niece and nephews Carrie, Tom and Terry; and numerous relatives, friends, and students. Pubic visitation will be held today, Friday, October 28, from 11 AM to 1 PM, at Chapel of Lee Funeral Home. A traditional wake will be held at Gordon First Nation on Friday October 28, 2011 starting at 4:00 PM and traditional funeral on Saturday, October 29 at 11:00 AM.

TAYPOTAT-PRATT - Marvin (25 Feb 2013 - February 25, 2013). On February 25, 2013, Marvin was called home by the Creator, to be born into the spirit world instead of the earthly one. The Funeral Service will be held in the old gym of the George Gordon First Nation, Sask., on Friday, March 1, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. Interment at St. Luke's Cemetery, with a traditional feast to follow back at the old gym.

THOMAS - Wayne Thomas. The family of Wayne Thomas announces his passing on July 24, 2012 in Saskatoon, SK. Viewing will take place from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Thursday, July 26 at Westwood Funeral Chapel . The Wake will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, July 27 and the Funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 27, both services will be held on the George Gordon First Nation in the Old Gym.

THORN-SEVERIGHT - Tristen Trey. It is with great sadness to announce the passing of Tristen Trey Thorn-Severight on February 9, 2007. Tristen is survived by his loving parents Michelle Thorne and Wallace Severight. Cherished by brothers and sisters, Kashtin, Savannah, Trinity, Latrell, Jordon, Jayden, Ralth (AJ) and grandparents Brenda Thorn (Elvis), Corrine Pambrun (Tom), numerous aunts, uncles and loved ones. The wake will be held on Wednesday, February 14, 2007 commencing at 3:00 P.M. in the Gordon Hockey Rink, Gordon First Nation. The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, February 15, 2007 at 2:00 P.M. in the Gordon Gymnasium, with Rev. Arthur Anderson officiating. Burial to follow at St. Luke's Cemetery.

TUTTOSI - Ronald Francis. Ron was born March 5, 1962 and passed away peacefully with his family at his side on Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at the age of 50 years. Ron is predeceased by his parents Tony and Wilma Tuttosi; grandparents John and Helen Tuttosi and Joe and Caroline Daniels; aunts, uncles and cousins too numerous to mention. In Ron's passing, he leaves to mourn his loving wife Sharlyn; his four children Diana, Shawn, Cassie and Corey; brothers Brian, Doug, and Dean (Brenda) Tuttosi; sisters Marilyn (Ray ) Sandhoff and Lori (Wes) Tuttosi; uncle Leonard (Vernita) Daniels; aunties Shirley and Grace (Gordon) Daniels as well as cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends. A wake will be held Friday, May 18, 2012 at 5:00 PM at the Indian Metis Christian Fellowship, 3131 Dewdney Avenue, Regina, SK. Prayers will be at 7:00 PM at Indian Metis Christian Fellowship, with Rev. Don McNeil officiating. Funeral Service will take place Saturday, May 19, 2012 at 1:00 PM at George Gordon First Nation Gymnasium, with Rev. Vicki Young officiating. Interment to follow at St. Luke's Cemetery. TUTTOSI - Wilma Elvira (nee Daniels), born May 20, 1932 and passed away October 12, 2004 at the age of 72 years. Wilma was predeceased by her parents Caroline and Joseph Daniels, her brothers Allan, Randall, Bill and Roy and Brian in infancy and sister Mary. She is survived by her children Brian (Norma), Marilyn (Ray), Doug, Ron (Sharlyn), Lori (Wes), Dean (Brenda) and husband Tony; numerous special grandchildren and great grandchildren; brother Leonard (Vernita); sisters Shirley and Grace (Garry); numerous special nieces, nephews and many relatives from Gordon First Nation. The Wake will be held Thursday, October 14, 2004 at 4:00 P.M. in the Gordon's Gymnasium. The Funeral Service will be held Friday, October 15, 2004 at 2:00 P.M. in the Gordon's Gymnasium. Interment to follow at Gordon First Nation Cemetery. Rev. Arther Anderson, assisted by Vicky Young and Irene Walter will be presiding.

WHEELER - Bernelda Winona Sakinasikwe (nee Pratt) Wheeler. After a long and courageous battle with cancer our mother passed away in the evening of September 10th, 2005 at RUH in Saskatoon. Born at Muskowpetung First Nation on April 8, 1937 Bernelda was a member of the George Gordon First Nation. Her parents left the reserve in the 1940s and raised their family in Herb Lake and Churchill, Manitoba. A residential school survivor Bernelda was the first in her family to graduate from high school and attend university. Her passion for learning and social consciousness led her to lifelong careers in journalism and the arts. In 1954, at age17, she was a disc jockey for CFHC, CBC Northern Service in Churchill. Following a brief stint as a practical nurse she moved into print journalism then returned to radio in the late 1960s. She was most remembered for her work on Our Native Land (CBC National radio) as a host, producer, and investigative documentary journalist. In 1982 she received a special award as the First Lady of Native Broadcasting in Canada, was nominated twice for ACTRA awards for best writer and best radio program, and in 1991 was nominated to the Order of Canada for her work in media. A writer of numerous local and national newspaper columns Bernelda continued writing regular columns for Eaglefeather News until her passing. In addition to journalism Bernelda published short stories and poetry including the children's books Where did you get your moccasins? and I Can't Have Bannock but the Beaver Has a Dam for which she received the Children's Choice and Toronto Children's Book awards. Later in life Bernelda discovered a passion for acting, most notable are her roles as Philomena Moose Tail and Palaija Patchnose in five different productions of The Rez Sisters. A founding member of the National Association of Friendship Centres and an active member of Grandmothers for Justice Bernelda was also known for her community work and social activism. She received the 2002 Citizen of the Year award in the FSIN Circle of Honor, the 2005 Elizabeth Frye Society's Rebel With a Cause Award and the upcoming Anskohk Aboriginal Literature Festival's 2005 Lifetime Achievement Award. Bernelda joins her father Colin Pratt, mother Clara (Anderson), brothers Bernard, Lawrence, Hector, Norman, nephew George, and her husband Colin Stonechild. She leaves behind sisters Dolly, Rose (Tom) and Marji; children Winona (Tyrone) and Jordan (Rosanna); grandchildren Theresa, Cam, and Kaya; nieces and nephews Marge (Jim), Joe (Corrine), Beth, Sherrilyne (Charlie), Bernie (Robin), Tom, Diane (Randy), Cheryle, Lori, Catherine, Pam, Tammy, Dana, Tracey and Blair; and many grand nieces and nephews. We extend our heartfelt appreciation to friends and colleagues who supported our mom with prayers and visits during these past few years. Please know how much she truly loved and valued you. Funeral Visitation will be held in Saskatoon at McKague's Funeral Chapel (corner of 3rd Ave. & 20th St.) 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 13, 2005 (service at 5:00 p.m.). Wake and Funeral Service will be in the Old Gymnasium at George Gordon First Nation Wednesday, September 14, 2005 beginning at 4:00 p.m. and Thursday, September 15, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. Bernelda's cousin Rev. Arthur Anderson will be officiating.
