Dennis & Linda Bordwine
Founders
Dennis is the founder of Bordwine Funeral Home. He is a graduate of Gupton College of Mortuary Science in Nashville, Tennessee. He has a Bachelor of Science Degree from Covenant College in Chattanooga, and has over 50 years of experience in the funeral services field. He is a member of the Tennessee and National Funeral Directors Association and holds a National Board certification in Mortuary Science. Dennis is also a member of the Tennessee Academy of Graduate Embalmers and a certified Funeral Service Practitioner.
Linda is co-founder of Bordwine Funeral Home. She attended Hiwassee College, Tennessee Technological University, and graduated from the McKenzie Business College in Chattanooga. Linda is a member of the Tennessee and National Funeral Directors Association. Both are members of North Etowah Baptist Church, where Dennis serves as a Deacon.
Frank "Bud" Myers III
Owner - Funeral Director - Embalmer
Bud is originally from Tellico Plains where he is affiliated with Myers Funeral Home. He has been with Bordwine Funeral Home since the summer of 2001. He is a 1988 graduate of Tellico Plains High School, Hiwassee College in 1990, and Tennessee Wesleyan College in 1992 with a degree in Business Management. He also graduated from John A. Gupton College of Mortuary Science in 1993. Bud is a member of the Tennessee and National Funeral Directors Association and served as the East Director for the TFDA from 2013-2016. He is deeply involved in community outreach, a member of the Etowah Rotary Club and the Etowah Chamber of Commerce. He and his wife, Tammy, have been married since 1992 and have two children, Dalton (Faith) and Leah. His hobbies include spending time on the lake with his family and friends and is an avid motorcycle rider.
Lee Ann Myers
Funeral Director
Lee Ann is a Licensed Funeral Director and has been employed at Bordwine Funeral Home since 2007. She is affiliated with Myers Funeral Home in Tellico Plains, TN. She is a graduate of Tellico Plains High School, attended Cleveland State Community College and is a graduate of John A. Gupton College in Nashville, TN. Lee Ann lives in Tellico Plains and she has two grown children; daughter, Maranda Shaw and son, Damon Shaw (Neyland); and four grandchildren, Maverick, Skyler, Mayvin, and Case. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends. Lee Ann’s favorite pastimes include riding motorcycles, boating and being in the mountains and on the river near Tellico.
Deborah Slack Smith
Office Manager
Deborah has served as Office Manager at Bordwine Funeral Home since January 2011. She graduated from McMinn Central High School, and has taken several courses at Cleveland State Community College in Secretarial Career; computer classes at TN Technology Center and Public Relations and Hospitality class at Chattanooga State. She is a member of North Etowah Baptist Church, and is married to Tim Smith and has two step-sons, Weston and Travis Smith. Deborah enjoys camping, boating and spending time with her family and friends at the lake or in the mountains.
Dana Jo Myers Ryan
Funeral Director
Dana Jo is a Licensed Funeral Director here at Bordwine Funeral Home. She has been a Licensed Funeral Director since 1995. Her and her husband, Steve, live in Tellico Plains, TN. She has three children, Jodie (Jeremiah), Amber (David), and Jeb (Morgan), and seven grandchildren, Rylee Jo, Troy, Gatlin, Liam, and Huntlee, Arlie Kate, and Reagan. Dana Jo enjoys crocheting, listening to music and sitting on her front porch swing in the mountains.
Leah Myers
Apprentice Embalmer - Apprentice Funeral Director
Leah is the daughter of Bud and Tammy Myers. She graduated from McMinn Central High School in 2018. In May 2021, she graduated from Tennessee Wesleyan University with a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration with an emphasis in General Management and double minor in Entrepreneurship and Communications. Leah is currently attending John A. Gupton College where she will receive her Associates of Science in Mortuary Science Summer of 2024. In her free time, she enjoys spending time at the lake with her family and friends.
Christy Cooper
Apprentice Embalmer/ Apprentice Funeral Director
Christy is originally from Mars Hill, North Carolina. She moved to Tennessee in 1987. She is a graduate of McMinn Central High School and is currently enrolled at John A. Gupton Mortuary College, planning to graduate in 2026. Christy is married to Michael Cooper and has one daughter, Emily, and two step-children, Chance (Sarah) and Skye. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and taking jeep rides through the mountains.
